Writer Guidelines

Follow these guidelines to ensure your work meets Kavyalekh's quality standards and gets approved quickly.

1. Originality is Essential

  • Submit only your original work
  • No plagiarism, copying, or unauthorized adaptations
  • Inspired by other works? Provide clear attribution

2. Language & Style

  • Primarily Hindi (Devanagari script)
  • English and mixed-language content accepted for certain categories
  • Use proper grammar, punctuation, and diacritics
  • Maintain a consistent tone and voice

3. Formatting Standards

  • Use paragraph breaks for readability
  • For poetry, preserve line breaks and stanza structure
  • Avoid excessive ALL CAPS or special characters
  • Use headings (H2, H3) for longer pieces

4. Content Quality

  • Proofread before submission
  • Ensure clarity and coherence
  • Remove typos and grammatical errors
  • Use the AI grammar check tool for assistance

5. Categories & Tags

  • Select the correct category (Poetry, Story, Essay, etc.)
  • Add 3-7 relevant tags for discoverability
  • Use existing popular tags when applicable

6. Featured Images

  • Add a relevant, high-quality featured image
  • Use your own photos or royalty-free images
  • Minimum size: 800x600px

7. Prohibited Content

  • Hate speech, discrimination, or offensive language
  • Explicit sexual content
  • Graphic violence or disturbing imagery
  • Spam, promotional content, or external links (unless relevant)

8. Review Process

  • Most submissions reviewed within 24-48 hours
  • If rejected, you'll receive constructive feedback
  • Revise and resubmit based on feedback

9. After Publication

  • You can edit your work anytime
  • Major edits may trigger re-review
  • Engage with readers who comment on your work

10. Ethical Standards

  • Respect copyright and intellectual property
  • Be truthful in autobiographical/factual pieces
  • Treat fellow writers and readers with respect
